The Lithuanian train Saule has made only few journeys from the project's beginning last year. For more than half a year the train was not functioning, jura24.lt reports.
The last journey from Klaipeda to Kazakhstan took place at the end of January this year. The reason for this is quite simple: the train lacked cargo. There are plans to re-new the train's journeys this month. There is Chinese cargo which goes through the port of Klaipeda to Antwerp.
The company's VPA Logistics manager Darius Beinortas claimed that they try to negotiate with a Chinese railway company and seek that the container cargo could be delivered to one of the train stations in the North-Western region in China.
Previously, Chinese cargo was delivered to the Kazakh station of Alma Ata. However, this scheme did not prove to be efficient.
