Vessels of the Standing NATO Maritime Group One (SNMG1), frigates Roald Amundsen (Norway) and Evertsen (the Netherlands), on Friday docked in Klaipeda port.
According to Commander of SNMG1, Commodore Ole Morten Sandquist of the Royal Norwegian Navy, the Maritime Group continues to hold joint training with regional partners in the Baltic Sea. Exercises had already taken place with the Estonian, Latvian and Swedish Navies and now training with the Lithuanian Navy is planned.
In Klaipeda, the commander of SNMG1 is going to meet with Commander of the Lithuanian Navy Captain Arunas Mockus, Klaipeda City Mayor Vytautas Grubliauskas and attend a number of events.
Residents and guests of Klaipeda are invited to visit NATO ships docked in the Central Ferry Terminal on Saturday, 27 May, between 1 and 4 p.m.
